Amarisoft completes first two-way data transfer with Iridium’s chipset partner, verifying both the integrity of the standard and independent implementations.
PARIS, France, May 31 2026 -- Amarisoft is pleased to announce the successful completion of an end-to-end data communication demonstrating Iridium’s NTN Direct, using an AMARI Callbox and with a leading IoT chipset vendor.
In this latest milestone, Amarisoft was able to use a simple setup using the chipset developer kit with an AMARI Callbox. The channel simulator included in the AMARI Callbox was able to mimic Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites varying delay and doppler not requiring any external channel emulator.
“This demonstration highlights the power of our collaboration with Iridium, who selected Amarisoft for the first verification of the Iridium’s recently completed 3GPP Release 19 Work Item ‘IoT NTN TDD’,” said Emmanuel Puig Amarisoft’s SVP of Engineering. “Our fully software-based physical layer, enabled exceptionally fast implementation and integration.”
Particularly for IoT device integrators, Amarisoft’s Callbox series represents a cost-effective test solution, enabling testing of both terrestrial network (TN) connectivity (NB-IoT, LTE-M and LTE Cat. 0/1/1bis) and non-terrestrial network (NTN) connectivity (both NB-IoT-NTN-FDD, and now NB-IoT-NTN-TDD). Testing of TN / NTN failover scenarios and SNO / MNO network interoperability can be done using a single box, including satellite channel simulation in a lab environment.
