Paris, February 20th 2023 – Amarisoft today announced its collaboration with AMD around 5G networks. Amarisoft recently launched the AMARI Callbox Extreme powered by an AMD Ryzen™ processor. With its peak speeds of 9.5 Gbps in Downlink, this new Callbox completes the existing series in terms of performance in mmWave and sub-6 GHz bands allowing users to experience the full potential of 5G technology. It supports 4G, 5G NSA and SA as well as NR-DC with up to 10 carriers in FR2 MIMO 2×2 or 6 carriers in sub-6 GHz MIMO 4×4.
On the vRAN side, Amarisoft full software solution, including low PHY, high PHY and protocol stack, running on a dual socket platform powered by AMD EPYC™ 7713 processors, can provide a total of 42 NR SA cells in 100 MHz MIMO 4×4 configuration with an aggregate throughput of 61 Gbps in DL and 3.1 Gbps in UL running on 112 cores. Amarisoft commitment to full software RAN, combined with high-performance AMD EPYC processors provides an affordable and high-quality 5G solution to the mobile industry.
“The advanced AMD CPU architecture with its high number of cores and efficient memory management gives a new perspective to the potential and capabilities of Amarisoft full software RAN solution. And, as always, no hardware acceleration card is used,” said Franck Spinelli, CEO at Amarisoft.
“AMD EPYC processors deliver the performance and energy efficiency needed to achieve stringent performance and energy efficiency goals across the telecommunications industry,” said Kumaran Siva, corporate vice president, Strategic Business Development, AMD. “We are extremely excited about our collaboration with Amarisoft to deploy their first AMD EPYC-powered vRAN solution. AMD delivers a unique offering with high core counts in an energy efficient package that is optimally suited for demanding 5G workloads.”
